Balsamic glaze (store-bought or homemade reduction)
Extra-virgin olive oil (optional, for a light drizzle)
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
Toothpicks or small skewers (4–6 inches long)
Instructions
Prep your ingredients: Rinse and dry the tomatoes and basil. Drain the mozzarella balls and pat them dry so the glaze sticks better.
Assemble the skewers: Thread one tomato, one basil leaf (fold if large), and one mozzarella ball onto each skewer. Repeat the pattern if using longer skewers.
Season lightly: Arrange on a platter.
Drizzle a little olive oil, then sprinkle with a pinch of salt and pepper. Season gently—mozzarella is delicate.
Add the glaze: Finish with a thin zigzag of balsamic glaze over the skewers. A little goes a long way.
Serve: Enjoy right away, or chill for up to 1–2 hours before serving for the flavors to mingle.
